Raiders Week 1 Busters vs Patriots
There was a lot to be proud of for the Raiders. But it wasn't all great. The issues reared their ugly heads on all but two of the Raiders drives in the game.
Busters
RT DJ Glaze
This was a brutal game for Glaze. In his first game after earning the starting job this offseason, he didn't inspire much confidence with the new coaching staff.
The Raiders drove into scoring range on their first two possessions. Their next three possessions went nowhere. And it was largely Glaze's fault.
The next possession, on third and six, Glaze gave up pressure from his side that led to Geno Smith being sacked. The one after that, he was flagged for illegal formation on third and six that would have wiped out any play they made had it not been declined. The drive after that he gave up another sack on Smith that put them in third and 20.
G Jackson Powers-Johnson
Staying with bad OL theme here, JPJ was pretty bad as well. He gave up the pressure that led to the first sack on Geno Smith. Later in the second quarter, he was flagged for unnecessary roughness on a late hit out of bounds that was completely unnecessary. Then in the third quarter he gave up another sack.
P AJ Cole
His net punt average was just 38.6, in large part because of two touchbacks. He also had a 39-yard punt to the 27-yard line.
