Rams blow out Buccaneers, 34-7: Instant analysis of big Week 12 win

The Los Angeles Rams came into Week 12 widely viewed as the best team in the NFL, and they reinforced that belief with a dominant win over a 6-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad. The Rams made it very clear that they were the better team on Sunday night, doing so right away on the first three possessions of the game.

They started by forcing a punt on defense, scoring a touchdown on their first offensive drive and then intercepting Baker Mayfield on a bobbled reception by Cade Otton, which was returned 50 yards for a touchdown. In the blink of an eye, the Rams were up 14-0, and then 21-0 and eventually 31-7.

The game was all but over before it even began, leaving an injury-ravaged Buccaneers team in the dust during the first half. And when Baker Mayfield was unable to return due to a shoulder injury, any chance of a comeback was dead in the water for Tampa Bay.

The Rams cruised in the second half and came away with an easy win at home, improving to 9-2 and taking over the No. 1 seed in the NFC in the process.

Final score: Rams 34, Buccaneers 7
