Rams take surprising WR at No. 13 in new mock draft
As likely as it seems that the Los Angeles Rams will take a wide receiver at No. 13 overall, it’s hard to get a gauge of which one they might select. Carnell Tate would be ideal but he’s probably going to be gone by the time the Rams go on the clock. Makai Lemon is a popular match for Los Angeles, assuming the Rams want a slot receiver. Even Jordyn Tyson will be in consideration, so long as his injury history isn’t too concerning for Los Angeles.
One other name to keep in mind is KC Concepcion from Texas A&M. He hasn’t been mocked to the Rams very often at No. 13, primarily because most analysts view him as a fringe first-rounder. But not Underdog’s Josh Norris and Hayden Winks.
They released a new mock draft on Wednesday and in it, the Rams select Concepcion with their first pick at 13 overall. That’s 16 spots earlier than the consensus, according to Underdog, making it the biggest reach in this mock, but it’s a match that makes sense.

The Rams are in the market for wide receiver help, and Concepcion is a different type of player than many of the other wideouts ranked ahead of him. He’s not well-rounded like Tate or as big as Tyson or as physical as Lemon, but his speed and elusiveness in the open field make him a real weapon.
He can be the kind of playmaker the Rams hoped Tutu Atwell would be, albeit with a little less speed. We don’t know Concepcion’s 40-yard dash time because he hasn’t run one pre-draft, but based on the film, he's a blazer.
Concepcion can separate and make plays after the catch, using his quickness to elude defenders in the open field. Plus, he's one of the best return specialists in the class, which is a major area of need for the Rams on special teams.
