Rams won't activate Tyler Higbee or Rob Havenstein off IR this week

Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein have each missed the last four games for the Los Angeles Rams while on injured reserve. Higbee dealt with an ankle injury, which landed him on IR, while Havenstein had ankle and knee bursitis.

Now that they’ve missed four games, they’re both eligible to return this week against the Seattle Seahawks. They won't play in this game, though.

Sean McVay told reporters Tuesday that the Rams won’t activate Higbee or Havenstein this week with there being so little time before Thursday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. McVay said the Rams will “see where they’re at” after Week 16, but there’s no clear indication of whether they will return for the final two games of the regular season.

In Higbee’s place, Colby Parkinson has scored three touchdowns in his last two games and four touchdowns in the four weeks that Higbee has missed. Warren McClendon Jr. is playing exceptionally well at right tackle with Havenstein out, to the point where it’s hard to see the Rams giving the starting job back to the veteran once he does return.

For at least one more week, the Rams will lean on Parkinson, Davis Allen and Terrance Ferguson at tight end, with McClendon manning the right side of the line still.
