Range Riders struggle in series with Oakland
Jun. 9—After returning to Glacier Bank Park from their first road trip of the season, the Glacier Range Riders might be looking forward to their next road trip after dropping the series finale at home to the Oakland Ballers, 8-4 on Sunday.
Glacier picked up their only win of the series on Saturday, 6-4 while Oakland won five-out-of-six in the series.
During Sunday's matchup, it was the third and sixth innings of the game that made the biggest difference where the Ballers (12-6) plated seven of their eight runs. In the third, Treymane Cobb Jr., doubled home a run before RBI singles from Esai Santos and Lou Helming; Helming's hit driving in two to extend the lead 5-0.
The Range Riders (8-10) scored first on Kyle Ashworth's RBI fielder's choice in the third before Logan Beard and John Mabry added run-scoring singles in the fourth to cut the lead to 5-3. The Ballers extended their lead again in the sixth inning with two RBI base hits and a sacrifice fly by Cobb Jr.
Antonio Barrance homered for the Range Riders, a solo shot in the seventh inning; his second of the season and third hit of the day. Rayne Supple gave up eight runs in 5 1-3 innings, seven of them earned and struck out five. The bullpen didn't allow a run over the final 4 2-3 frames.

TJ Clarkson broke the tie in the seventh when he scored on a passed ball and Casserilla and Liniak added two more RBI singles to open the lead at 6-3. Liniak finished with three hits on the day; Casserilla two as they each drove in two runs.
In the ninth inning, the Ballers scored a run on Cobb Jr.'s RBI single, and they loaded the bases with just one out with a chance to take the lead. Luke Cooper struck out Davis Drewek for the second out of the inning and got Cam Bufford to fly out to end the game and pick up the save.
Luke Schafer was impressive on the mound for Glacier, going six innings with two earned runs and nine strikeouts. Davis Pratt earned the win after a scoreless seventh inning. Angel Mendoza went 3-for-4 with two runs scored out of the nine spot.
