Recap: OKC Blue drops home finale in 119-114 loss to Rip City Remix

The G League's OKC Blue dropped a heartbreaker in a 119-114 loss to the Rip City Remix on Wednesday. The home defeat put OKC's record at 17-15 on the season and served as the regular season home finale.

Both teams had fast starts. The Remix lead the Blue 38-34 after the first quarter. That continued in the second frame when they each knotted 30 points. Rip City entered halftime with a 68-64 advantage.

After the break, the game came to a screeching halt. The Blue chipped away from their deficit with a 27-17 scoring advantage in the third quarter. It didn't take long for OKC to retake the lead after Cormac Ryan's 3-pointer put it ahead 72-70 less than two minutes into the second half and held that lead the rest of the frame.

The Blue entered the fourth quarter with a 91-85 lead. After Miller Kopp gave OKC a 109-104 advantage with three minutes left, the Remix scored seven straight points to flip the scoreboard in their favor at 111-109 with less than a minute left.

Down 116-112 with nine seconds left, the Blue had one last gasp of a comeback attempt. Ryan quickly made a layup to make it a two-point contest with three seconds left but the Remix sealed the final result at the free-throw line after being intentionally fouled. Rip City finished with 34 points in the final frame.

The Blue shot 42% from the field and went 17-of-44 (38.6%) from 3. They shot 7-of-11 on free throws. They had 27 assists on 43 baskets. Six Blue players scored double-digit points.

Meanwhile, the Remix shot 45% from the field and went 15-of-40 (37.5%) from 3. They shot 20-of-23 on free throws. They had 21 assists on 36 baskets. Six Remix players scored double-digit points.

  • Miller Kopp: 29 points on 9-of-17 shooting, 7-of-14 from 3, five rebounds, four assists
  • Jahmi'us Ramsey: 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting, 3-of-6 from 3, five assists, two rebounds
  • Cormac Ryan: 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting, 4-of-10 from 3, eight assists, six rebounds
  • Cameron Brown: 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, 2-of-5 from 3, two rebounds, two assists
  • Vincent Valerio-Bodon: 25 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 3-of-7 from 3, 5-of-5 on free throws, eight rebounds, three assists
  • Terquavion Smith: 22 points on 7-of-18 shooting, 4-of-11 from 3, five rebounds, three assists
  • Cameron Tyson: 20 point son 7-of-13 shooting, 4-of-9 from 3, six rebounds, two assists
  • Craig Randall II: 19 points on 4-of-15 shooting, 2-of-6 from 3, 6-of-7 on free throws, 10 assists, five rebounds
