After having the best season of his career in 2024, Jarren Duran took a step back in 2025. He declined in many offensive categories, including WAR, runs, hits, home runs and OPS.

While he enjoyed making the playoffs last year, Duran wasn't happy with his individual production. Accordingly, he worked hard this offseason and wants to be better in 2026.

In his recent "Day in the Life" video for Bruce Bolt, Duran opened up about his goals for this coming season.

"This season's gonna be fun. We've got a really good, exciting team," Duran said. "I think last year we kind of showed what we can do as a young team and we're just getting more experience under our belt."

Duran also teased a big change on his part.

"For me, I'm kind of going in with a different mentality this year," Duran added. "It's something that I've been working on this whole offseason, just mentality-wise. I'm excited to see if the fans can notice my different approach to the game this year."

The 29-year-old outfielder thinks he put too much pressure on himself last year and wants to play more free and loose this season.

"Honestly, I've just been trying to have more fun again," Duran said. "I feel like in '25, I got a little antsy and anxious to try to repeat what I did in '24. Thinking like that doesn't get you back to that, so I just need to kind of get back to having fun and playing loose again."

Duran's looked plenty loose so far, bashing three home runs in spring training and three more in the World Baseball Classic. If he keeps it up, he could be headed for another All-Star, MVP-caliber season like 2024.
