Report: Details of what Sixers' Quentin Grimes is looking for emerge

Free agency is set to begin very soon and the Philadelphia 76ers have their eyes on bringing back Quentin Grimes and Guerschon Yabusele at the outset of the period on Monday evening. The Sixers don't have much in terms of spending power in the free agent market, but they are confident they can bring back at least one of their key players.

Grimes, specifically, appears primed to return. Of course, he will have suitors, but the Sixers put the ball in his hands down the stretch of the season and got to see what he can do. He averaged 21.9 points in the 28 games he played in after being acquired at the deadline from the Dallas Mavericks.

One has to wonder what Grimes will be looking for in free agency. Well, per Tony Jones of The Athletic, that number has been revealed:

The Sixers have been in contact with Grimes and his camp, although the price may end up being steep. Grimes, 25, is looking for a contract that averages $25 million per season, league sources tell The Athletic. He has emerged as a dynamic scoring guard, and he gives the Sixers a mix of the ability to shoot from the perimeter and get to the basket and put pressure on the rim off the dribble. Last season, Philadelphia had too little of both skill sets on its roster.

Grimes is an important piece to this roster. Especially, with VJ Edgecombe, Tyrese Maxey, and Jared McCain on the roster. If Grimes can return, that gives Philadelphia a deep backcourt filled with skilled guards who can put the ball on the floor, shoot, and knock down shots in isolation or at the basket.
