Roma vs. Fiorentina: Lineups & Game Thread

Roma’s on-again, off-again Champions League pursuit is alive and kicking. Having the luxury of closing our Matchday 35 with a Monday night fixture, Gian Piero Gasperini and the Giallorossi had to be smiling as they saw Como and Juventus, the two clubs immediately ahead of them on the table, drop points this past weekend. With Como drawing Napoli on Saturday and Juventus following suit against Verona yesterday, Roma has a chance to overtake Como in the standings and pull within one point of 4th-place Juventus.

Hardened Roma fans are no doubt already bracing for disappointment. Still, if the capital club can handle its business against the Viola today, we’re in for an intense three-team race to the finish line. And with little distinction in their remaining fixtures, it could come down to the wire.

But first things first: Roma must hold the fort at the Stadio Olimpico today. Anything short of victory will put the final nail in the proverbial coffin.
