Rookie Will Richard earns first preseason start on Tuesday vs. Trail Blazers
On Tuesday night in Portland, Steve Kerr is adding a new face to the starting lineup for the Golden State Warriors' preseason contest against the Portland Trail Blazers. With Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green sidelined on Tuesday, rookie Will Richard entered the starting lineup for his first time as a member of the Warriors.
Richard has played in 15 minutes or more in all three of Golden State's first three preseason games. In three games, Richard is averaged 5.6 points, 2.3 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game in the preseason.
After spending three seasons at Florida and winning a national championship in March, Richard was drafted in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft with the No. 56 overall pick.
Richard will start alongside Steph Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Kuminga and Al Horford against the Blazers.
