Ryder Cup 2025: Team Europe's biggest bogey this week has nothing to do with golf—and even former players have taken notice
It was a dream Day 1 for Team Europe at the Ryder Cup as the boys in blue and yellow jumped out to a three-point lead. But they did make one big bogey at Bethpage Black that had many of Golf Twitter—including former players—pointing it out. It just had nothing to do with the team's golf.

Did you notice that they were crinkling up in all sorts of directions as the day went on? (Just look at that photo above!) Well, Golf Twitter certainly did. Here's a sampling from Friday:
And on Saturday morning, Lee Westwood weighed in on the matter in response to a Graeme McDowell question.
Which leads us to our own question? How does this happen? Especially when we know how Europe plans everything surrounding this biennial event in excruciating detail. Heck, they even made a whole video about their uniforms called THREADS OF VICTORY and how they were linking back to former winning teams.
What they did is very cool. But you wouldn't expect collar technology to get worse over the past few decades. Seve would not stand for this!

In any event, when it comes to collars, the Americans have already won. So, they have that going for them at least.
