Saints vs. Giants injury update: Star WR Malik Nabers to miss remainder of season

An 0-4 New Orleans Saints squad returns home after two road games to face the 1-3 New York Giants in Week 5. The Giants notched their first win of the year on Sunday with a 21-18 upset of the Los Angeles Chargers. Sunday also saw the Saints fall to the Buffalo Bills by a 31-19 score.

New Orleans will likely be without right guard Cesar Ruiz, who was carted off in the second quarter against Buffalo with an ankle injury. The Giants came into Monday with even more serious injury news. Star wide receiver Malik Nabers will miss the rest of the 2025 season with an ACL injury, confirmed by the Giants on Monday. Late in the first half against the Chargers, Nabers was thrown a deep ball down the right sideline. He went up for the pass awkwardly and it was clear he'd injured his right leg before he landed to the ground.

A native of Lafayette, La., Nabers went on to star collegiately with the LSU Tigers. In three years at LSU, he caught 189 passes for 3,003 yards and 21 touchdowns. His best season was a 1st Team All-American campaign in 2023, earned with 89 receptions for 1,569 yards and 14 scores.

Nabers was the sixth overall selection in Round 1 of the 2024 NFL draft by the Giants. He was the second receiver chosen. As a rookie, Nabers had 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and 7 touchdowns on 170 targets to lead New York in all four categories. Nabers had 18 catches for 271 yards and 2 scores through four games this season, including 9 receptions for 167 yards in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys. Here's to a full recovery for the young star.
