Sammy Smith irate with Jeb Burton after wreck ends Stage 2 at Daytona: ‘That douchebag’

A little frustration on the track as Sammy Smith goes for a spin off of the front bumper of Jeb Burton’s Chevrolet. A few cars went spinning and Aric Almirola hit the wall pretty good. Smith was very upset with his NASCAR peer for the incident.

Jeb Burton is in a points battle for the final spot in the playoffs. His cousin Harrison Burton holds the final spot on the bubble. For Jeb, tonight is extremely important.

Sammy Smith is hoping to win a race straight up for the first time this season. He won the Rockingham race after Jesse Love was disqualified earlier in the year. This spin isn’t going to help either of these drivers.

Smith was letting off frustration on the radio after his spin. Understandably, he wasn’t happy with Burton.

“That douchebag has wrecked me three times,” Smith said on the radio, via Matt Weaver of Motorsport. He then called Burton a “moron.” The No. 8 team did its best to calm him down.
