The Cleveland Browns have been rumored as a team that could make a blockbuster trade over the past year or so with Myles Garrett. It hasn't happened yet, and it remains uncertain if it ever will, but Garrett being on a different team definitely makes a lot of sense.
Among the options around the league that could use a fresh start, Garrett is at the top of that list.
It isn't because of anything he's done, but rather because the Browns just haven't been good enough on either side of the ball to justify keeping a player of his caliber.
I don't love the idea of just moving on from a franchise legend, but if the return is there, that's what has to happen.
Daniel Jeremiah believes that could be the case, and the San Francisco 49ers could be an option because of that.
“You talk about someone who was put on this earth to play in the scheme that the 49ers run, it would be Myles Garrett,” Jeremiah said. “He would be an unbelievable fit, and I just can’t imagine a world in which a healthy Nick Bosa was on the opposite side. That would be scary indeed…
“I would be willing to discuss a lot of picks and a lot of different players to make that happen if he ever did become available.”
The question in any deal involving Garrett would obviously be the picks. He's one of the best players that the NFL has ever seen, so we'd be looking at a generational type of package. However, as Jeremiah touched on, there's certainly a price to pay for a player of his caliber that would be worth it.
