Seahawks got great value by drafting Elijah Arroyo
The Seattle Seahawks decided to address the offense with their third selection of the draft by picking tight end Elijah Arroyo from Miami. Arroyo was the No. 50 overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft. However, it appears the Seahawks may have gotten somewhat of a steal with their newest offensive weapon.
Arroyo's overall production in college was severely hampered due to injuries in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. It was because of questions about his overall health that caused teams to have pause on the Hurricane standout, despite high interest. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler is now reporting many teams had Arroyo valued as high as a late first round pick.
Instead, he fell to the Seahawks at No. 50 overall.

I have long been an advocate for the Seahawks to utilize their stable of tight ends more than they have in the past few years. Last season, Michigan's AJ Barner proved to be an intriguing option in the passing attack, hauling in four touchdown receptions despite being labeled as a "blocking" tight end. With Arroyo in the mix, alongside AJ Barner and veteran Noah Fant, the Seahawks could once again field an intriguing tight end group.
Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak values tight ends in his system, as they were featured heavily when he was calling the plays in Minnesota and last season in New Orleans, as well as when he was the passing game coordinator in San Francisco. Drafting a tight end in the second round may not have been on many 12's radar, but this is a new offense Seattle is developing, and with John Schneider's philosophy of drafting "darn good football players" it appears Arroyo was too quality of a prospect to pass up.
