Seven Ducks unavailable for Week 1 matchup with Montana State, including several surprises

The Oregon Ducks, per Big Ten rules, have released their official injury report two hours prior to kickoff against the Montana State Bobcats in Week 1.

While there are some players — namely wide receiver Evan Stewart (torn patellar tendon) and safety Trey McNutt (broken leg) — that were shoo-ins to be included on the report, several others stood out as surprises.

Senior cornerback Theran Johnson was among them, as he was expected to make his Ducks debut after transferring from the Northwestern Wildcats this offseason. Johnson registered 53 total tackles, 10 passes defensed and two interceptions a season ago. He's listed as out.

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Dillon Gresham, a four-star recruit in 2024, will also miss the matchup against the Bobcats.

Along with Stewart, McNutt, Johnson and Gresham, defensive back Dorian Brew, offensive lineman Bryce Boulton and wide receiver Jack Ressler are also out. Linebackers Dylan Williams and Brayden Platt are questionable.
