St. Joseph's band to fill in for Pride of Oklahoma during OU football game vs Temple

PHILADELPHIA — OU football fans traveling to Philadelphia for Saturday's contest against Temple will hear "Boomer Sooner" inside Lincoln Financial Field.

However, the fight song won't be played by The Pride of Oklahoma.

The Sooners' band announced Friday that due to budget constraints it didn't travel to Philadelphia. Instead, St. Joseph's University pep band will fill in for the pride at all OU events and during Saturday's game.

The Pride of Oklahoma will be traveling to all conference away games this year. The full band will travel to Texas and pep bands will travel to South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama.

The Pride's X account commented it's the first time its had a stand-in.

"We are so grateful for the St. Joseph's University Hawk Band for filling in for us in Philadelphia this weekend," The Pride of Oklahoma wrote on X. "We'll see you for Auburn."
