Suns injury update. Starting C out vs Mavericks in 2nd of back-to-back
Phoenix Suns starting center Mark Williams is ruled out of the April 8 game against the Dallas Mavericks at Mortgage Matchup Center under left foot injury management.
After Tuesday’s loss, Suns coach Jordan Ott addressed the possibility of resting players in the second of the home back-to-back on Wednesday.
The Suns (43-36) lost April 7 to the Houston Rockets, 119-105.
"We've taken those backs-to-backs this part of the season as a way to make sure we get to the finish line,” Ott said. “We do reassess some in the morning and then we'll attack that tomorrow night after we see those guys how they bounce back. That was a physical game. Some of the minutes are pretty high. So we'll have to see what it looks like in the morning.”

Wednesday will be Phoenix’s final home game of the regular season. They close out the regular season with road games at the Lakers April 10, and at Oklahoma City April 12.
The Suns are seventh in the West and locked into the play-in tournament April 14-17.
Phoenix will finish either seventh or eighth in the conference. The Suns have a two-game lead over the Los Angeles Clippers (41-38) with three games left for both teams heading into Tuesday night's Mavs game.
The seventh seed will host the eighth seed for the seventh seed in the playoffs. The 7-8 loser then plays at home against the 9-10 winner for the eighth seed.
The Portland Trail Blazers (40-39) are ninth in the West and the Golden State Warriors (37-42) stand 10th in the conference.
Williams missed 15 straight games after suffering a left foot third metatarsal stress reaction. He’s played three games since his return, posting 19 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes against the Rockets.
The 7-footer has played a career-high 59 games in his first season in Phoenix after playing a total of 106 games in three injury-filled seasons with the Charlotte Hornets to begin his NBA career.
Grayson Allen is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game with a right quadriceps contusion. He scored eight points in 26 minutes on Tuesday versus Houston.
Haywood Highsmith (right knee injury management) remains out. He last played on March 17 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 6-foot-5-inch forward will miss his 11th consecutive game on Wednesday.
