Tennessee Titans vs. Los Angeles Rams: 6 things to know about Week 2 matchup

The Los Angeles Rams (1-0) head to Music City to face the Tennessee Titans (0-1) this Sunday in the early afternoon window.

Here are six things to know before Sunday's matchup.

The Series

This will be the 15th meeting all-time between the Rams and Titans, including the infamous Super Bowl 34. The Rams lead the all-time series 8-6. The last meeting between these teams is a fond memory for Titans fans, defeating the Rams with a smothering defense in 2021. The last meeting in Nashville was in 2017, with the Rams winning that matchup, 27-23.

Titans seek their first win of the season

The Titans had a frustrating but competitive season opener last week against the Denver Broncos, losing 20-12 after grabbing a 12-10 lead. The team desperately seeks a bounce-back win. Brian Callahan desperately needs to get scrutiny off of him. Every game is crucial for Callahan.

Rams' offensive line injury woes

Rams starting interior offensive linemen, Kevin Dotson and Steve Avila, are considered "week-to-week," per HC Sean McVay. This is a massive opportunity for Jeffery Simmons and T'Vondre Sweat to wreak havoc.

Stafford continues to age like wine

Los Angeles Rams starting quarterback Matthew Stafford opened the season with a resounding roar. He threw for 245 passing yards with a 72.5 percent completion percentage. His ball placement and anticipation haven't diminished, and the Titans' defense needs to be wary of his ability.

Rams' players to watch

• Wide Receiver Puka Nacua had a big game against the Houston Texans last week with 130 yards on 10 receptions and looks primed to be as productive as he's ever been.
• EDGE Jared Verse created the most pressure in the NFL last year as a rookie, according to PFF. He plays with great play strength and heavy hands. He is certainly someone to watch.
• Wide Receiver Davante Adams didn't break 100 yards last week, but expectations are high for the future Hall of Famer. I feel this week is a good opportunity for him to break 100, considering the instability in the Titans' Cornerback room with L'Jarius Sneed's injury and Jarvis Brownlee's recklessness.

Cam Ward will be fine

Cam Ward was a massive bright spot for the Titans on Sunday. He did everything he could to take the team to victory against an elite defense. However, the wide receivers are clearly not meeting his standards, leaving plenty of catchable balls on the field. Still, Cam remains cool and collected. He continued to carry himself professionally, even in times of crisis on Sunday. Fans should look forward to his performance every week to see how far he can take this roster.
