Texas A&M redshirt freshman WR will enter the transfer portal
With the transfer portal officially open, Texas A&M fans will finally get clarity on who is actually entering rather than relying on “expected to” reports. The latest Aggie to officially hit the portal is a young wide receiver who could never quite carve out a consistent role in the rotation.
On Friday, Pete Nakos of On3 reported that redshirt freshman Izaiah Williams has entered the transfer portal. The former four‑star prospect—who flipped to A&M in the 2023 class—arrived with legitimate speed and playmaking upside. Despite a strong showing in last year’s spring game, his opportunities remained limited. Williams appeared in nine of A&M’s 13 games this season and finishes his Aggie career with fewer than 10 total receptions.
With the emergence of Ashton Bethel‑Roman, the return of Mario Craver, and A&M actively pursuing a proven wideout in the portal, Williams likely saw the writing on the wall. Testing the market gives him a chance to find a program where he can realistically compete for a starting role. The talent is there—now he just needs the right fit.
Below is his announcement.
