The Bucks' projected starting 5 after signing Myles Turner

In case anyone was worried about how the Milwaukee Buckscould possibly convince Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay, they had a GREAT answer prepared.

On Tuesday, during the second day of 2025 NBA free agency, the Bucks signed free agent center Myles Turner, luring him away from the rival Indiana Pacers after their run to the NBA Finals last month. This, while waiving Damian Lillard, who will miss the entire 2025 season while recovering from a torn Achilles. PHEW.

Needless to say, there's a lot to unpack for the Bucks' short and long-term future.

For now, let's focus on what their new projected starting lineup looks like.

Point guard: Kevin Porter Jr.

Porter has shown he can score in bunches, but this is a weird fit for a starting point guard. No one has ever confused him with being a capable and competent playmaker. And for the time being, he's Milwaukee's primary offensive initiator with a crowded frontcourt that needs more support. Hmm. Stay tuned.

Shooting guard: Gary Trent Jr.

Trent returns to the Bucks after a near-career season from behind the arc. Regardless of any lineup adjustments they may make moving forward, he'll be one of the Bucks' primary floor spacers.

Small forward: Kyle Kuzma

After he was a trade deadline addition last year, Kuzma is now entering his first full season with Milwaukee. He'll try to rebound from one of the worst and least efficient offensive seasons of his career.

Power forward: Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Bucks have done everything Antetokounmpo asked to (likely) convince him to stay. He's got a younger frontcourt partner in Turner. And they have enough flexibility moving forward after this season to potentially make even more moves. You should be seeing a bunch of Antetokounmpo dunks in Milwaukee for the foreseeable future.

Center: Myles Turner

Fresh off a Finals appearance with the Pacers, Turner jumps from one elite frontcourt duo with an All-Star like Pascal Siakam to an upgrade with the all-timer in Antetokounmpo. While it's not an apples-to-apples comparison, Turner is essentially a younger version of Brook Lopez's skill set. He should fit like a glove in Milwaukee.
