The Wizards brutally tricked a fan into thinking he won $10,000

For some reason, April Fool's Day is still a day people (and the Washington Wizards) use to prank others who are simply minding their own business.

One person took time out of their evening to go see the Wizards despite the fact that the team had won just one game of their previous 20. As part of the in-game entertainment, this fan was brought to the hardwood and then blindfolded for a half-court shot attempt.

The fan, like the Wizards, came nowhere close to hitting the shot. But the arena host pretended that he did and made him think that he suddenly had $10,000 that he previously did not.

After he celebrated with mascots, he was presented with an oversized fake check.

But then, it was revealed that the shot did not actually go in and instead, he was given free Wizards tickets.

Thankfully the tickets are for next season and by then, the team is hopefully playing better than they are right now.

Washington went on to lose the game, 153-131, to the Philadelphia 76ers and maintain sole possession of the worst record in the NBA.
