It’s been a difficult season for Palmer, who missed the virtually the entire first half of the campaign with a chronic groin injury.

However, the 23-year-old has still scored nine Premier League goals this season, and is the player Chelsea look to in order to make something happen.

Tony Cascarino on Cole Palmer future

Chelsea are currently on a run of four defeats in a row in all competitions, and are once again in danger of failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Despite links with a move to Manchester United, it’s been reported that Palmer is untouchable, and failing to qualify for the Champions League won’t change that.

Palmer put in an impressive performance in England’s 1-1 draw against Uruguay on Friday night, and Chelsea need him back to his best if they are to achieve their goals.

Liam Rosenior has insisted top players haven’t asked to leave the club, but Enzo Fernandez has already questioned his future, and Cascarino feels if Palmer’s going to be successful he needs to question the Chelsea project.

“If Cole Palmer wants to be successful, he has to question the project at Chelsea,” he told talkSPORT as quoted on X.com.

“It doesn’t look like it’s going to be any time soon.”
