Trade interest in Warriors' Kuminga reportedly starting to grow

Jonathan Kuminga's tenure with the Golden State Warriors appears to be nearing an end. The explosive forward is widely expected to be traded ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline. Kuminga has missed the last 15 games for Golden State, with head coach Steve Kerr opting to keep the former lottery pick out of the rotation, despite him being part of the starting lineup to begin the season.

Speculation has continued to grow regarding potential suitors for Kuminga and what type of trade package Golden State can expect in return. According to Danny Emerman of The San Francisco Standard, there is a growing interest in Kuminga, with multiple teams now registering an interest in acquiring him.

“A league source described the market for Kuminga on Friday as warming, with multiple teams registering varied interest," Emerman reported. "The Kings, whom the Warriors destroyed on Friday, are among the teams fond of Kuminga."

Of course, the more interest in Kuminga, the better it is for Golden State. If multiple teams opt to pursue him, the Warriors can try to spark a bidding war, thereby increasing the return they could receive in any potential trade package.

Still, as things stand, there have been no reports of an official trade offer for Kuminga. However, that doesn't mean conversations aren't ongoing, and should be expected to heat up as the trade deadline begins to draw closer.
