The No. 21 Cyclones lost a back-and-forth battle to Colorado (3-4, 1-3). It was the Buffaloes' first conference win of the season and their first win over a ranked opponent since coach Deion Sanders' debut victory over TCU on Sept. 2, 2023.
Iowa State seemed to lose momentum after a flag was thrown in the end zone for an apparent defensive pass interference was picked up, and the Cyclones had the ball picked off on the same play.
Iowa State plays host to BYU on Oct. 25.
