Twitter reacts to Patriots WR Stefon Diggs' cryptic social media move

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs has apparently undergone a social media cleanse after purging all of his posts on Instagram.

This move comes at a time when Diggs' future in New England is currently up in the air. The former four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is slated to count $26.5 million against the salary cap in 2026, which is the second-highest on the team behind star defensive tackle Milton Williams.

So it would be expected for the Patriots to seek a restructured contract with the 32-year-old receiver before moving forward with the second-year of his three-year deal with the team. If Diggs refuses to restructure, some have speculated that the Patriots would consider a split, even after his 1,000-yard receiving season.

With that in mind, it wasn't surprising to see many jump to conclusions over Diggs wiping the slate clean on Instagram. It is important to note that Diggs could have scrubbed his Instagram for any number of reasons that he doesn't have to explain to the outside world. As of Tuesday afternoon, he is still following the Patriots on his social media platform.
