Two-Minute Drill for May 29: College World Series; Women's College World Series; NFL OTAs

College Baseball’s 64-team tournament begins Friday as the slog toward the College World Series begins. Five teams will be representing the Sunshine State.

In the Tallahassee Regional, Florida State is joined by Bethune-Cookman, Mississippi State and Northeastern.

The Gators find themselves in the Conway Regional, with host Coastal Carolina, Fairfield and East Carolina.

Miami is in the Hattiesburg Regional, with Southern Miss, Columbia and Alabama.

And Stetson will be in the Auburn Regional, with Auburn, Central Connecticut and NC State.

Gators in WCWS Elite 8

The Women’s College World Series is down to eight teams, and the state’s lone participant, the Florida Gators, hope they can claim their first title since going back-to-back in 2014 and 2015.

They play Texas, Thursday, May 29, at noon.

Seven of those final eight teams are looking to unseat the eighth participant, Oklahoma, which has won the Women’s College World Series four years in a row.

NFL OTAs and mandatory minicamps

OTAs for the Dolphins, Jaguars and Buccaneers continue as we head toward mandatory minicamps and then summer break.

The aforementioned minicamps for all three Florida teams will occur between June 10-12.
