U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers: Nigeria eliminate Senegal
After securing a 1-0 win in the first leg, Nigeria proved their mettle with a 2-1 victory over Senegal. With this triumph, Nigeria advance to the final round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland.
At the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, the Falconets outperformed their Senegalese hosts, with Nigeria's girls striking twice (in the 18th and 56th minutes) before Senegal pulled one back in the 75th minute.
In 11 previous appearances, Nigeria have twice reached the final, and now they are on the verge of a twelfth outing. The Falconets now look ahead to May 2026 for the fourth and final qualifying round for Poland.
