UMass depth chart vs. Iowa football depleted at key skill positions

Week 3 of the college football season features the Iowa Hawkeyes hosting the UMass Minutemen in their final nonconference game before getting into Big Ten play. The matchup is looking like it may serve as a final tune-up for the Hawkeyes, who need work on offense, and recent UMass roster news has made that even more likely.

Joe Harasymiak, the head coach of the UMass Minutemen, has listed nine players as out, or unavailable, for Saturday's contest against Iowa as of Monday. That is liable to change, but the list features some key names that could be absent against Iowa.

UMass has listed starting quarterback Brandon Rose out against Iowa.

Other names of note listed as currently unavailable against Iowa include the wide receiver duo of Ty Harding and Jake McConnachie.

Rose is 24-44 on the year for 217 yards with no touchdowns to one interception, while completing 61.4% of his passes. Grant Jordan, the other UMass QB, is 15-24 for 211 yards and no touchdowns to go with one interception, should he get the nod on Saturday.

Ty Harding has four receptions for 30 yards, while Jake McConnachie has four catches for 31 yards. While both are contributors, the Minutemen will force feed the ball to Jacquon Gibson, their leading receiver, who already has 19 catches for 221 yards.
