USC's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad sports week

This past week has not been particularly kind to USC fans. In a span of less than seven days, we have seen each of the Trojans' three major sports teams suffer a brutal loss.

First, there was the Alamo Bowl. On Tuesday night, the football team ended its season with a painful 30-27 overtime loss to TCU in San Antonio. With no more games for the next eight months, the defeat will hover over the program for quite a while.

Then on Friday, the men's basketball team traveled on the road to face Michigan. The game got ugly, as the No. 2 Wolverines dominated the No. 24 Trojans 96-66.

Finally, on Saturday night, the women's basketball team was blown out 80-46 by crosstown foe UCLA. Losing by 34 points is never fun, but to do so in a rivalry game is particularly brutal.

In short, it was not a fun week to be a USC fan. The good news is that next week, cannot possible be any worse, right? Right?
