Victor Wembanyama injury update: Spurs star likely to play vs Thunder

LAS VEGAS – San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is "likely" to play against the OKC Thunder in the NBA Cup semifinals at 8 p.m. CST Saturday, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
Wembanyama has not played since Nov. 14 due to a left calf strain. Charania reported that final clearance for the big man will come after San Antonio's practice Friday, which concludes at 5:30 p.m. He's officially listed by the Spurs as probable for now.
Wembanyama was playing at an All-NBA level prior to his injury. The third-year pro is averaging career highs of 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and four assists this season to go along with 3.6 blocks.
OKC (24-1) enters the matchup on a 16-game winning streak, which is a franchise record. It has also tied the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors for the best start to a season through the first 25 games in NBA history.
The winner of Saturday's semifinals matchup will advance to the championship game. It'll either face the Orlando Magic or the New York Knicks at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Las Vegas.
