Vikings look solid in BCC Preview
MONTGOMERY – The Barr-Reeve Viking golf team posted an impressive win in the 9-hole Blue Chip Preview on Thursday at Country Oaks. The match featured the teams that will also play an 18-hole match on Saturday for the conference and all-conference titles.
B-R shot a 151, with everyone on the team shooting 40 or below. The match was won by Viking freshman Lincoln Miller with a -1, 35. Brady Wagler added a 37, Isaac Knepp shot 39, while Cam Knepp, Lincoln Wagler and Levi Traylor shot solid 40s on the cool and windy afternoon.
South Knox was second with a 166 and Loogootee was third with a 169, including a 38 from Ryken Chandler and a 39 from Paxton Arvin. Dubois came in at 184, with the B-R B-team at 187. North Knox shot 198, Shoals shot 204 and Wood Memorial, 218. Washington Catholic did not participate.
The Blue Chip on Saturday begins at 8 a.m.
