VOLLEYBALL: Claremore dominates Day 1 of Coweta Invitational with perfect sweep

Claremore opened the Coweta Invitational with a statement Friday.
The Lady Zebras stormed through Day 1 without dropping a set in sweeps of Stilwell, Tahlequah and host Coweta. Their balanced attack, highlighted by a school-record performance at the net, set the tone for a commanding 3-0 run.
The trio of Ava Tanner, Faith Caffey and Grace Baughman powered Claremore’s front line.
Tanner hammered 12 kills to go with 3 blocks and 8 digs, while Caffey also notched 12 kills, stuffed 6 shots and served up 2 aces. Baughman orchestrated the offense with 22 assists, while also filling the stat sheet with 10 kills, 6 aces, 5 blocks and 9 digs.
Behind them, Maise Stagner-Speer steadied the attack with 23 assists and 6 digs, and Asia Ianes was everywhere, piling up 14 digs, 12 kills, 7 aces and a block.
The Lady Zebras' front line turned away opponents repeatedly, with Doyle’s 8 blocks setting the tone. Her 6-block performance against Coweta tied a single-match school record.
Doyle also added 4 kills and 5 aces to her day. Bella Hoisington (4 kills, 4 blocks) and Caffey anchored the wall at the net, forcing opponents into mistakes.
On the back row, Madison Godding anchored serve-receive with 11 digs and 8 assists, while Alivia Payne and the defensive specialists kept rallies alive and fueled transitions.
