Volleyball: Lady Chargers win Civil War match with South
North Decatur played host to South Decatur in the annual Civil War volleyball match Tuesday. The Lady Chargers pleased the home crowd with a 25-22, 25-19, 25-20 victory over the Lady Cougars.
“It was a good battle between the teams. I’m proud of the comeback we had in that third set,” South Coach Sutliff said.
Sophie Rohls led the attack for the Lady Chargers with 16 kills. Miley Scudder added 12 kills followed by Sarah Moeller six, Brynlee Green four and Ellie Johnson two. Lanee Rennekamp set the offense by dishing out 32 assists. Sara Litmer and Eliza Kennelly both served two aces for North. Green served one ace.
Defensively for North, Rohls tallied three total blocks with Moeller and Scudder chipping in with two and one respectively. Kennelly finished with a team-hgih 12 digs. Scudder added 11 digs and Rennekamp had 10 digs. Moeller had nine digs followed by Litmer four, Green three and Rohls two.
For South, Taylor Somers tallied five digs, 13 assists, seven kills and three total blocks. Liz Bennett finished with two aces, 10 digs, four kills and one block. Raegan Benge added eight digs, three assists and one kill. Riley Benge had one ace and four kills.
Dalilah Martin picked up 13 digs. Kennedy Sundal chipped in with two assists, three kills and two blocks. Raygan Harrison had one ace and four digs. Laney Seegers added two digs.
Greensburg
On the road at Jennings County, the Lady Pirates improved to 11-1 with a tough 5-set win 25-11, 23-25, 25-12, 27-29, 15-12 over the Lady Panthers.
