Warriors Share Steve Kerr's Priceless Reaction to Buddy Hield's Game 1 Mistake
The Golden State Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 99-88 win at the Target Center on Tuesday. The Warriors got this win despite Stephen Curry leaving the game in the second quarter due to a hamstring injury.
A big reason why the visitors still emerged victorious was the play of Buddy Hield. Hield had a game-high 24 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists and one steal against the Timberwolves.
This was the second-straight game in which Hield had stepped up for the Warriors, after scoring 33 points in Game 7 against the Houston Rockets. Head coach Steve Kerr had kept faith in the guard despite his inconsistent play in the regular season, and he is now reaping the rewards of it.
Hield did make one hilarious mistake in Game 1 against the Timberwolves, though. About a minute into the contest, the Timberwolves' bench pointed out that he had worn the wrong shorts.
Thanks to that mistake, the Warriors were forced to take a timeout as Hield had to head to the locker room to change into the right shorts. It was quite a hilarious incident, and the Warriors shared Kerr's priceless reaction to it.
It was at this moment, Buddy and Coach figured out he was wearing the wrong shorts 🤣 pic.twitter.com/D2mXyzQco7— Golden State Warriors (@warriors) May 8, 2025
Kerr seemed rather concerned at first as Hield jogged by him. Upon fully comprehending what had just happened, though, he couldn't help but smile. It's not too often that you see a player make a mistake like that.
Hield managed to shake off the embarrassment and deliver for the Warriors. They have now snatched home-court advantage, and Game 2 will be played at the Target Center on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
