The connection between New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is growing.

That was none more evident than watching the two torch the New Orleans Saints on multiple key plays on Sunday. Boutte has developed into a reliable, sure-handed security blanket target for Maye downfield. The two connected on the third-down play that iced the game for New England late in the fourth quarter.

They also connected on a pair of touchdowns throughout the game that kept the Patriots out in front. The first touchdown came late in the first quarter with a Saints defender draped all over him. It was a beautifully placed throw that allowed him to make a play and come down with the contested catch.

On the second touchdown, Boutte snagged a 29-yard touchdown pass before halftime.

Boutte finished the game with a team-high five receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns. The former LSU standout makes the offense significantly better when things are clicking.

New England will need more from him this season if the team has any hopes of making some real noise down the stretch.
