Week 1 football roundup: Almont, Imlay City, Northern and Yale all win on opening night
PORT HURON — Here are the results from Thursday's high school football games in the Blue Water Area.
Almont 24, Marysville 21
Blake Lane finished 4-of-8 passing for 62 yards and one touchdown to lead Almont (1-0). He also added 44 yards and one score on the ground. Matthew Bacholzky caught a 16-yard touchdown pass while Colten Karbel ran for a 2-yard score.
The Raiders host Imlay City at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Brady Wright threw touchdown passes of 74 yards and 80 yards, respectively, for Marysville (0-1). Hunter Likins caught the 80-yard strike and also returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown.
The Vikings entertain Hazel Park at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Anchor Bay 32, Port Huron 0
Port Huron (0-1) welcomes Warren Fitzgerald at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Imlay City 14, Powers Catholic 13
Daniel Rojas rushed for 144 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries to guide Imlay City (1-0). Brady Homer threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Brett Lestage.
The Spartans visit Almont at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Port Huron Northern 13, Redford Thurston 6
Kade Hiller had 52 rushing yards and one touchdown for Northern (1-0). Lincoln Watkins reeled in four catches for 56 yards. Defensively, Amir Morelan caught an interception.
The Huskies head to Madison Heights Lamphere at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central 14, Sandusky 0
Sandusky (0-1) hosts Marlette at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Saginaw Swan Valley 55, Croswell-Lexington 35
Cros-Lex (0-1) travels to Armada at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Yale 21, Swartz Creek 6
Yale (1-0) visits Richmond at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
