What top-reporters are saying about LSU tackle Will Campbell ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

Days ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, LSU left tackle Will Campbell remains a top prospect in the eyes of multiple top draft analysts.

While many have pointed to his smaller wingspan as a concern, Campbell's agility and experience leading arguably the SEC's top unit for the last few seasons stand out. On Thursday, he could hear his name called as early as No. 4 overall when the New England Patriots are on the clock.

Campbell's coming off a consensus All-American year in his third season at LSU. His performance at the NFL Combine set him apart from others in the draft class, logging one of the best offensive line showings in recent history.

As one of two prospects who ran the 40-yard dash in under five seconds and made a vertical jump over 30 inches, Campbell joins Pro Bowlers Trent Williams and Tristan Wirfs in the category.

Campbell drew a relative athletic score of 9.86, around two-tenths higher than two top-15 offensive linemen taken in last year's draft. He ran a 4.98 in the 40 meter dash with a 1.76 10-yard split. Campbell's ratings in the composite score for speed proves he's one of the most athletic linemen in the class.

Here are what NFL Draft reporters are saying about Campbell less than a week away from the 2025 NFL Draft.

ESPN's Mel Kiper

Kiper is one reporter who consistently mentions Campbell's shorter arm length. However, he highlights the offensive lineman's agility as a reason Campbell will be a top-five pick. Kiper's most recent projections slot Campbell at No. 4 overall to the New England Patriots.

"I know a lot has been made of Campbell's sub-33-inch arm length, but he has the footwork and pop to tick at left tackle and keep Pats quarterback Drake Maye clean."

"Campbell can land a quick first punch and use his great overall technique and agility to keep pass rushers at bay"

ESPN's Mike Tannenbaum

Tannenbaum lists the New York Jets, who have the No. 7 pick, as a prime suitor for Campbell's services. The team used their 2024 first-round pick on tackle Olu Fashanu and could use another reliable blocker to protect newly-signed quarterback Justin Fields.

"Campbell allowed only two sacks over his final two seasons, and while arm length is important, his tape is too good and too consistent to pass on here."

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah

Campbell, according to Jeremiah, possesses the athleticism and knowledge to make him a top-10 prospect. While also mentioning the left tackle's arm measurable, Jeremiah doesn't believe there is "much panic around the league" as Campbell's a complete prospect who will contribute immediately.

"He was exposing his chest at times (do to his lack of ideal length) but he's able to recover after giving up some initial ground. He can slide and redirect with ease. He flashes the upper-body strength to torque and control defenders. In the run game, he can wash defenders on down blocks and he stays attached to/through the whistle."
