When is the Daytona 500? Start time for NASCAR regular-season opener
The 68th running of the Daytona 500 is upon us, commencing the 2026 Cup Series season in earnest after last week's non-points paying Cook Out Clash in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Hendrick Motorsports' William Byron is aiming to be the first driver to win Daytona three years in a row. The 28-year-old has advanced to the Championship 4 each of the last three seasons but has yet to win the Bill France Cup. A historic win at Daytona would set Byron on a path to get over the championship hump.
Elsewhere in the field, Byron's teammate, Kyle Larson, looks to start the regular season strong after winning his second Bill France Cup a season ago. Ryan Preece, meanwhile, comes into Daytona with momentum after edging out second-place Byron to win the Cook Out Clash.
So, when will the Daytona 500 take place? It's set for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
Race fans, it's almost that time.
