Paige Bueckers is so back. 

The Dallas Wings guard and the No. 1 pick for the 2025 WNBA Draft was absent for part of the season due to a concussion after a game against the Chicago Sky on May 30. But then, after clearing the concussion protocol on Saturday, Bueckers was ruled out for the game against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday due to illness.

But now, the UConn alum will be suiting up for the game on Wednesday between the Wings and the Phoenix Mercury. 

Ahead of their game, many Wings staff members and teammates have expressed their excitement at having Bueckes back on the court again at a pre-game media press conference. Wings head coach Chris Koclanes told sports journalist Joey Mistretta that "he and the players are 'excited' for Paige Bueckers’ return."

Wings CEO Gregg Bibb also expressed his excitement to Mistretta about Bueckers' return. 

"We're excited Paige is coming back after missing a few games," Bibb said to Mistretta. "Obviously, we, like everybody, has known about Paige for a long time and the bar was pretty high in terms of the expectation. And I can tell you, just a few games into her career with the Wings, she has exceeded expectations. She is better than advertised and she's been advertised a lot."

The Wings have been struggling so far during the 2025 WNBA season, posting a 1–9 record and last in the league. But, Bueckers has shown consistency over the six games she played before her concussion and illness, averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds. 

The team's one win took place on May 27, when the Wings defeated the Connecticut Sun 109-87 and Bueckers scored a career-high 21 points in the game. 

Fans can watch Bueckers and the Wings play against the Mercury on Wednesday evening at 10 p.m. ET.
