World Cup groups finalized
After the events of the last week-and-a-half, the World Cup groups are now finalized.
The stage is set for what should be a very intriguing World Cup tournament in North America as the world’s best teams will do battle in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in an effort to crown the best squad.
Iraq, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden, and Türkiye clinched the final berths. The biggest loser, of course, was Italy, who — again — was shut out of the tournament. Kosovo and Poland also fell short. This was Italy’s third consecutive World Cup being left home…which is utterly shocking. Below is the final field:
- Group A: Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Czechia
- Group B: Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, Switzerland
- Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, Scotland
- Group D: United States, Paraguay, Australia, Türkiye
- Group E: Germany, Curacao, Ivory Coast, Ecuador
- Group F: Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Tunisia
- Group G: Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand
- Group H: Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay
- Group I: France, Senegal, Iraq, Norway
- Group J: Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Jordan
- Group K: Portugal, Congo DR, Uzbekistan, Colombia
- Group L: England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama
