WrestleMania 42 results: Becky Lynch topples AJ Lee with dirty tactics to win back Intercontinental Title

Becky Lynch finally scored a win over AJ Lee when they battled over Intercontinental gold at WrestleMania 42, Night 1 in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Yet, it didn't come without the typical Lynch shenanigans.

It was wild scenes to have Paige and Lee wrestle back-to-back on a WWE show in 2026. Nonetheless, each got off to a hot start. Lynch and Lee wasted no time going after each other. The pair quickly spilled to the outside of the ring, where Lee took a Fallaway Slam against the barricade. Once back in the ring, the story within the match turned to Lynch trying to cheat by taking off a corner turnbuckle — until referee Jessica Carr stopped it.

By this point, Lee has firmly returned to being fully comfortable in the ring, despite still having had pretty limited time in the ring. She nailed a big missile drop kick before the first potential Black Widow submission. Unfortunately for Lee, her momentum was halted by a Powerbomb after a failed Shining Wizard. The second Black Widow attempt followed for Lee, but she was too close to the corner and found herself slung into it like a rag doll. Lee ate a subsequent Manhandle Slam, kicking out at two.

Lynch began really getting in Carr's face, and they started to shove each other. Lynch ran toward the champion, getting caught in her own move, as Lee landed the Manhandle Slam. After some strikes, Lynch went for another, but was countered with the Black Widow, which locked on. 

Lynch escaped with some dirty hair-pulling tactics. That opened a moment for Lynch to pull the turnbuckle back off, use Carr as a shield for a Lee splash, then knock Lee into the exposed metal and hit the Manhandle Slam. One, two, three. And new — again — for Lynch.
