Yankees release Marcus Stroman one day after MLB trade deadline

Marcus Stroman is no longer with the New York Yankees.

One day after Major League Baseball's trade deadline, Stroman was released by the Yankees on Aug. 1 ahead of their game in Miami against the Marlins.

The Yankees made the announcement, along with other roster moves, on X:

Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:
• Added RHP David Bednar (#53), RHP Jake Bird (#59), RHP Camilo Doval (#75) and INF/OF José Caballero (#72) to the active roster.
• Released RHP Marcus Stroman from the roster.— New York Yankees (@Yankees) August 1, 2025

Stroman made nine starts for the Yankees this season, going 3-2 with a 6.23 ERA.
