3 Steelers on offense primed for breakout 2025 season

As the Steelers’ 2025 roster begins to take shape, several offensive players are positioned for massive breakout seasons this year.

From two Steelers looking to fill the voids left by offensive staples departing in free agency, to a former first-rounder aiming to live up to his draft status, here are three Steelers on offense that are primed for a breakout 2025 season:

RB Jaylen Warren

Warren was one of the most efficient running backs over the past three seasons but had to relinquish the bulk of the Steelers' rushing opportunities to Najee Harris — who left Pittsburgh for the Chargers this offseason. Behind a healthy offensive line, fans should expect Warren to shock the NFL in 2025.

WR Calvin Austin III

Steelers wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni named Austin as the de facto WR2 for good reason — his game-changing speed is second to none on Pittsburgh’s offense. The George Pickens trade may have left a massive hole opposite of DK Metcalf — but Austin will look to make the most of the opportunity. The addition of Aaron Rodgers in 2025, coupled with the fact that Austin is facing a make-or-break contract year, makes this upcoming season the year he should take a big leap forward in his professional career.

OT Broderick Jones

There’s arguably no Steeler on offense with more to lose this season than Jones who hasn’t quite lived up to his 2023 first-round draft status in his first two years in the league — but that will only fuel the big offensive tackle. The blame isn’t his alone to bear, as he’s played sparingly at his natural position of left tackle — which he’s set to revert back to in 2025.
