49ers lose another DE to an injury in third quarter vs. Rams

The San Francisco 49ers' front seven has taken a beating early in their 2025 campaign. They started the year without Kevin Givens, lost Nick Bosa for the rest of the year, entered Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams without Robert Beal Jr. and lost Kalia Davis in the first half.

Then, in the second half, 49ers defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos suffered an injury on Matthew Stafford's 34-yard completion to wide receiver Tutu Atwell.

The team has yet to announce the type of injury or the severity. However, if Gross-Matos, who had yet to record a tackle in the game, can't go, San Francisco will have to rely on Bryce Huff, Mykel Williams, Sam Okuayinonu and Trevis Gipson on the edge.

In the first four games of the season, Gross-Matos played 30% of the team's defensive snaps and 3% of the special teams snaps and recorded four tackles.

UPDATE (10:21 p.m. ET): San Francisco announced that Gross-Matos has a hamstring injury and won't return on Thursday.
