Alabama lands commitment from ACC transfer long snapper
On Thursday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide landed a commitment from an ACC transfer who could end up as a key member of the team's 2026 special teams unit.
That commitment was from Ethan Stangle, a veteran long snapper who announced on social media Thursday that he would be transferring to Alabama following multiple seasons at Syracuse.
Stangle will be entering his redshirt senior season in 2026, and served as Syracuse's primary long snapper on punts this past fall. During his first three seasons at Syracuse, Stangle appeared in only one game from 2022-24, coming during the 2024 season.
The redshirt senior will compete for the Crimson Tide's starting long snapper position next season, a group that lost starter David Bird to the transfer portal earlier this week.
