Alabama women's basketball rises in latest AP Poll Top 25

The AP Poll for Week 16 of the women’s college basketball season has officially been released.

Alabama is ranked at No. 24 following a 1-1 record in two games of action this past week. Alabama most recently defeated the Florida Gators on Sunday in Gainesville, 76-71, which followed a 75-57 home loss to South Carolina earlier in the week. Star guard Jessica Timmons was nothing short of elite during the matchup, as Timmons recorded an impressive 34 points on 11-of-17 shooting in the victory.

Alabama currently holds a 7-7 record in SEC play with just two games on the schedule remaining. The Tide will certainly have their hands full against both Vanderbilt and Texas in the upcoming week, as a win against either program would prove to play a massive role in NCAA Tournament seeding moving forward.

No. 24 Alabama will face No. 5 Vanderbilt on Thursday evening, as the Tide will look to improve to 8-7 in SEC play.
