Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray 2026 offseason profile
The 2026 league year is coming next month. It officially begins on March 11, with the legal negotiating period beginning on March 9.
The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.
Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.
We begin with quarterback Kyler Murray.
Kyler Murray 2025 season
It was a rough year for Murray. He played in only five games, injuring his foot in the second half of their game in Week 5. He tried to come back, failed to make it back to the field and was placed on injured reserve, where he remained for the rest of the season.
He completed 68.3% of his passes for 962 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 173 yards and a score.
Kyler Murray contract status
Murray is under contract through 2028. He is due more than $22.8 million in salary, more than 1.8 million in a workout bonus, and he is due a $17 million roster bonus on March 15, which will trigger salary guarantees of $19.5 million in 2027. He is scheduled to count $52.7 million against the cap.
Kyler Murray offseason outlook
Murray's status is the biggest question of the Cardinals' offseason. They are trying to trade him. Will they be able to? What will they get in return, and how much of his contract might they have to eat?
Will they cut him if they can't trade him?
Most expect him to land with another team. It feels like the team has moved on from him and want to start over.
Expect to see him in another uniform, and don't be surprised if they have to ultimately release him as they did with DeAndre Hopkins in 2023.
