The Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) returns with a bang this September, as Guyana plays host to the 2025 edition of the women’s T20 cricket showcase from September 6 to 17 at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence.

Defending champions Barbados Royals, winners of both the 2023 and 2024 titles, will battle to secure a historic third crown. Challengers Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders aim to disrupt their dominance in what promises to be a fiercely competitive tournament. Six group stage matches will set the stage for a grand finale on September 17.

Adding to the excitement, the women’s matches will be played as double-headers alongside fixtures from the Republic Bank Men’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL), giving fans a double dose of elite cricket action in a single outing.

Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring praised the growing momentum of women’s cricket in the region, saying the WCPL plays a crucial role in showcasing both regional and international talent. Caribbean Premier League CEO Pete Russell echoed the sentiment, highlighting the league’s commitment to providing a platform for exceptional women’s cricket.

Founded in 2022, the WCPL has become a key feature in the Caribbean cricket calendar, known for its vibrant crowds, emerging stars, and push for gender equity in the sport.

Fans can expect fireworks on and off the field as the WCPL continues to grow in strength and stature.
