Bears rule out Austin Booker, Travis Homer vs. Commanders
In just a few hours, the Chicago Bears will close out Week 6 with a highly anticipated matchup against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football. The Bears, coming off their bye week, have most of their team back after dealing with multiple injuries, but a couple of players will remain on injured reserve.
The team announced defensive end Austin Booker and running back Travis Homer were downgraded from questionable to out and will not be activated off injured reserve this week. Booker (knee) and Homer (calf) have been out since the start of the season and began practicing this past week in full. The Bears will give them at least one more week to get up to speed before they play in a regular season game, however.

The Bears also announced they have elevated kicker Jake Moody and defensive lineman Jonathan Ford from the practice squad to the active roster. Moody was signed to the practice squad prior to Week 2 as insurance for Cairo Santos after he was waived from the San Francisco 49ers. With Santos dealing with a quad injury, there's a chance we see the former 2023 third-round draft pick appear in the game.
Ford, meanwhile, will serve as extra depth on the defensive line with Grady Jarrett out for a second week in a row. He appeared in one game for the Bears so far this season, back in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Bears and Commanders kick off at 7:15 PM CT on ESPN.
